World Naked Gardening Day – 1st May 2021

World Naked Gardening Day

The first Saturday of May is World Naked Gardening Day (WNGD), a global event where gardeners are encouraged to strip back to basics and enjoy the outdoors at one with Mother Nature.

Why nudity?

WNGD symbolises a return to nature at a time when outdoor spaces are playing an important role in our physical and mental wellbeing. Stripping off to explore the outdoors uses the calming spirit of the natural world to encourage us to let go of inhibition, and move towards embracing body positivity.

How can I get involved?

The spirit of WNGD is about celebrating the Earth and recognising our role within looking after it. To celebrate, why not get out in the garden and plant some spring bulbs, weed the flower bed or simply relax in your garden – in the nude. No garden? No problem, tend to your houseplants or spread the cheer with friends and family.

If you’re not feeling brave enough to bare all, our Makers’ Aprons provide a handy cover-up, as well as a place to hold your tools.

Spread the cheer on social media, and get creative with your photographs! #WorldNakedGardeningDay2021
