Our Soho Garden Story

Storm Flowers Garden is a sustainable online gardening store, based in Soho, Central London.

The business began in Lockdown, when Soho was so quiet you could hear church bells and bird song from the tower where we rent our office space. Corporate flower supply had crashed with no one in the offices, so in between food bank deliveries we created a gardening site with beautiful, useful tools to help your garden grow. It was important to make small scale in the UK to keep carbon footprint at a minimum. Restarting the art of manufacturing in the UK means moving slowly to ensure we find the right makers and creators to work with.

Our curated range is made up of both our own designs, and beautiful tools and accessories made by small producers and crafts people that we have found around the UK. Our founder Joao is Brazilian, so we also stock Hammocks and handmade sandals sourced from Brazil.

So far, we have a range of hand-fired Plant Pots (Wimbledon, London), florist and creatives' Makers Aprons and Christmas Tree Skirts (Glasgow, Scotland), and we are developing a beauty range including gardener’s soap with ground walnut shells to exfoliate working hands (East Sussex). Alongside watering cans and plant misters from Haws (Smethwick, East Midlands), and leather gardening gloves (Shropshire), we have more finds sprouting up daily, and we are always looking to work with small-scale independent manufacturers.

What is important to us is that we know where the products are made, we know the people who made them and we know what they are made of.

Business begins and ends with people and community. We are passionate about our local Soho Community and support Soho Parish School, St Anne’s Church, and we are members of The Soho Society and The Soho Business Alliance.
